Mrs. Temitope Williams, affectionately known as "Temi" is the Medical Director at iHEAL. With over 18 years of experience in the nursing profession. Nurse Temi uses a holistic approach considering other factors such as physical, mental, and social factors when treating and managing her patients. She believes the care she provides must be culturally sensitive and patient centered. Her professional specialties include patient advocacy and partnership, issues that impact underserved and marginalized groups, education, mentorship, and case management.

As a family nurse practitioner, Nurse Temi noticed that individuals with mental illnesses were misrepresented and underserved. Hence, a passion to contribute to and advocate for mental health developed which prompted her to pursue a certificate in the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certification Program at the George Washington University.

Temi has experience working with children as young as 3 years old, teenagers, adults, and the elderly. Her nursing specialties include, but are not limited to, medication management and diagnostic evaluations for mood, substance use, anxiety, attention, and psychotic disorders. She provides office-based treatments (e.g., suboxone and Vivitrol injections) for substance use. She is also certified to prescribe medical marijuana in the State of Maryland.

She describes serving individuals with mental illness as a joy and often comments about how much she enjoys talking with and listening to her clients. Building a therapeutic alliance is the core of her provider-patient relationship.

In her spare time, she loves to cook, read, write songs and stories, and run.

Patient Feedback about Temi

"I would like to thank iHEAL for having NP Temitope Williams as a part of their team! In these troubling times of a pandemic, financial distress, and just everyday life, it is refreshing to have a provider such as Mrs. Williams who takes the time to ensure I am healed as a whole rather than just sending a script to my pharmacy! I could never say enough wonderful things about the entire iHEAL team.” ~ TM
