Continuing Education Policies & Procedures

Cancellation/Refund Policy

Participants can cancel workshop participation up to 14 days before the workshop with a full refund. Cancellations submitted 8-13 days before the workshop will receive a 50% refund, and cancellations that are made within seven days (or less) of the workshop will not be refunded; however, the registration fee may be applied to future workshops.

iHEAL will not refund workshop participants for postponed or cancelled workshops that are beyond its control (e.g., weather events, facility closures, presenter illness). iHEAL will make every effort to cancel workshops if there is a foreseeable conflict. If a workshop cannot be presented at the marketed time, date, or place, iHEAL will provide alternative accommodations so that participants can attend the workshop. If the alternate dates, times, and facilities are feasible for the workshop participant(s), they will be offered the option of applying the already-paid workshop fee to a future workshop.

Late Admittance/Early Departure

iHEAL monitors attendance at all CE events. Participants who are more than 15 minutes late or leave more than 15 minutes early from workshops will not be granted CE credit. This policy is consistent with the standards set by the Maryland Psychological Association. Refunds are not offered for late admittance and early departures.

Grievance Policy & Procedure

iHEAL is fully committed to conducting all activities in strict conformance with professional standards for social workers, psychologists, nurses, counselors and therapists, and other health professionals. iHEAL will comply with all legal and ethical guidelines for non-discrimination in promotional activities, program content, and in the treatment of CE participants. iHEAL’s CE Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that presenters and iHEAL team members comply with these standards.  While iHEAL strives to provide equitable treatment for all participants and to anticipate problems before they occur, occasionally grievances may be filed. In cases where a participant files a written or oral grievance, the following actions are taken:

  • An iHEAL team member will mediate the grievance and will be the final arbitrator. If the participant requests action, the CE Director may either provide a credit for a subsequent CE offering or provide a partial or full refund of the CE registration fee.

  • Actions involving a credit or a refund will require a written note documenting the grievance for recordkeeping purposes. The aggrieved individual does not need to sign the note.

Accessibility Policy

iHEAL strives to ensure that no potential participant with a disability is excluded, denied services, segregated, or otherwise treated differently from other individuals attending CE workshops. If you require special accommodations in order to fully participate in their program, please contact iHEAL (via phone or email) at least two (2) weeks prior to the scheduled program to discuss your needs. All CE workshops are held in buildings that are ADA-accessible.

In-person Registration Policy

Pre-registration is the best way to secure your workshop admission. In-person registration is permitted, if space allows, but is not guaranteed. No cash is accepted for on-site registration.
